If orkut ( or any other site) has been blocked in your school or office , you can still want browse orkut then you have to use a proxy site. A proxy site is mostly a single page website with lots of ads on it. At the bottom of the site (generally) you can see and address bar in which you can write the address of the site you want to open(like orkut.com) and hit the "go" button.
The proxy site will then take you to orkut.com. Normally if you or others open the proxy site a lot, then the system administrator will find out the name of the proxy site site you are using and block that proxy site too. Then again you have to find another proxy site and use that one for opening orkut.
To find out proxy site just type "proxy sites" in google and you will get lots of proxy sites to use.
Another cool trick to open orkut is http://images.orkut.com/  . This address is less likely to be blocked by the administrator and will open orkut directly without proxy.
